Visual LISP

What is Visual LISP?

Visual LISP is an extension of the AutoLISP programming language. It is more powerful than AutoLISP because it can access the AutoCAD object model. Visual LISP has its own development environment built in to AutoCAD. It was first introduced as a paid add-on for AutoCAD Release 14 in 1997 but was included with AutoCAD 2000 in March 1999. Since then, there has been very little development of Visual LISP by Autodesk, who have chosen to focus development efforts on the more powerful programming interfaces.
